Dukhan Toastmasters celebrate 100th meeting

Dukhan Toastmasters celebrated their 100th meeting “Centurion Celebrate” recently at Jinnan Recreation Center, Qatar Petroleum Township Dukhan. Mohammed Al Baker, Head of Community Support & Business Relation at QP Dukhan Fields was the chief guest and Mohammed Nasiruddin, Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy was guest of honour.

Patrick Choueri- Business & Community Relations Coordinator, Derek Andrew Jones, Headmaster Dukhan English School, Adrian Macaulay, Deputy Head Academics, Dukhan English school and Hussain Ali Al Qahtani- Community Relations Officer were other guest at the function. Dukhan Toastmasters President Nasimudheen A Hameed in his welcome speech briefed about the successful story of Dukhan Toastmasters. Toastmasters fraternity were B Krishna Kumar– Division E Governor, Eswaran Natrajan, Area-28 Governor and Sameer Hassan Moosa, the Chief Coordinator of the event and Area-18 Governor.

Sreelakshmi Hareesh and Gauri Patil lead the day. Arul Fernandes, Narsimhan Ravi and Sebastian Mascarenhas spoke.

The new logo was released by the chief guest and guest of honour. Mustufa explained the advent of the logo. The fifth issue of Dukhan Toastmasters Newsletter– Communiqué was released by the chief guest.

Following awards were presented during the ceremony. Competent Communicators – Arul Fernandez and P P Hussain, Advance Communicators Bronze, Sebastian Mascarenhas and Advance Communicator Gold, Sameer Hassan Moosa. Competent Leader award presented to Mohammad Salauddin,   Meenakshi Ravi, Sreedevi Kiran Kumar, Risman Hatibi, Luis Peres and Mark Pilling. The winners Anil Malik, Abdul Khader M I and Luis Peres and runner-ups Sebastian M, Nasimudheen and Mohammad were presented with trophies and certificates. Special Achievement Awards for the night were “Creative Genius” Award to Mustufa Sange for Logo creation & Newsletter editorial activities.

Toastmasters Membership Award to Syed Raziulla, Best Cadet Award to Pareeduddin M for the Best Sergeant at Arms. Special recognition award “Commitment to Community” Award presented to Mohamed Eid Al Hajiri, President of JRC on behalf of the JRC Managing Committee.

Gavel Contest Winners were also presented with trophies and certificates International Speech contest winner-Gavelier- Narsimhan Ravi, Runner up: Gavelier-Sahiti Kotala, 2nd Runner up:- Gavelier- Chinchu Joseph, Table topics Speech contest Winner: Gavelier -Megan Roche, Runner up: Gavelier- Sahiti Kotala, 2nd Runner up: Gavelier- Huda Mushtaq. Live music was presented by Budi Sulistyo Wahono from Qatar Petroleum on Saxophone and Rosariyo from QAFAC, Mesaieed on Guitar.
